1 dead, 1 hospitalized after disturbance at Fort Collins Clarion Inn on Wednesday

One person is dead and another remains hospitalized following a disturbance at an east Fort Collins hotel Wednesday morning.

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office responded to the reported disturbance at the Clarion Inn on East Mulberry Street just before 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. Two people were taken to local hospitals with life-threatening injuries and a third person was treated for injuries at the scene.

A 43-year-old male involved in the incident was pronounced dead Wednesday at a local hospital, the sheriff’s office said Thursday. The man’s identity, cause and manner of death will be released by the Larimer County Coroner’s Office at a later time.

The other person initially taken to a nearby hospital, a 34-year-old Fort Collins woman, was transferred to a hospital in the Denver metro area for further treatment of her injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators are working with the coroner’s office to examine evidence collected at the scene. The investigation is ongoing and no additional information was available as of Thursday morning.

There is no known threat to the public.
