UPDATE, 5:06 p.m.: Drake Road has reopened after a crash seriously injured one person and closed a portion of the road for about three hours.
Around 2 p.m. Monday, a truck versus sedan collision at the intersection of Drake Road and Rigden Parkway was reported to police, according to a news release.
As a Dodge truck approached the intersection traveling east on Drake, a Toyota Prius made a left turn west onto Drake Road. The front of the truck collided with the driver side of the sedan, according to the news release from Fort Collins Police Services.
The 23-year old female driver of the Prius had serious injuries. She was extricated from the vehicle by Poudre Fire Authority and taken to a hospital for treatment.
The 24-year-old truck driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Investigators are trying to determine whether the sedan stopped for the stop sign or whether speed may have been involved. Police do not suspect either driver was impaired.
Anyone with information about the collision who has not already given a statement to police is asked to contact Officer Drew Jurkofsky at 970-416-2224.
