Foul play is not suspected after a body was found in a southeast Fort Collins parking lot Friday.

Yellow police tape blocked the scene where the body of a man was found in a parking lot between Carrabba’s Italian Grill and the Courtyard Marriott.

Police have no reason to believe there’s a threat to public safety, Fort Collins police said Friday afternoon after conducting a preliminary investigation.

Just after 7 a.m., Fort Collins police officers responded to a report of a “person down” in the parking lot.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a deceased person, according to police spokeswoman Kate Kimble.

The man’s identity and cause and manner of death will be released by the Larimer County Coroner’s Office pending toxicology testing, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fort Collins police at 970-419-3273.
