Heavy snow finally hits the Denver metro area


DENVER — Heavy snow hit the Denver metro area last night and we’re waking up to a good 6 to 12 inches on the ground.

The snow will lighten up this morning, with another 1 to 2 inches possible on the south and east sides of town.

With temperatures dropping into the teens this morning, there will likely be a lot of very slippery and snow packed roads. Give yourself plenty of time this morning!

Skies will clear out this morning and this afternoon will be clear and cool with highs in the 30s. Milder weather will return on Friday with highs in the 40s.

Saturday will be dry and cool, followed by another chance for flurries Saturday night or early Sunday.

Next week will be dry and warmer with highs back near 60 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday.
