The man who was killed in a Tuesday fire in Loveland has been identified by the Larimer County Coroner’s Office as Kenneth A. Waag, 51, of Loveland.
The manner and cause of death were not released pending toxicology tests and the pending investigation, according to the corner’s office.
The fire started in a commercial building at 1917 W. Eighth St. in west Loveland about 1:45 a.m., according to Loveland Fire Rescue Authority. Fire crews from Loveland and Fort Collins responded, and a woman outside the building told firefighters there was someone still inside.
Firefighters found the man, since identified as Waag, within eight minutes, according to previous reporting. He was given CPR at the scene but died later at Medical Center of the Rockies, LFRA Operations Chief Greg Ward previously told the Coloradoan.
The woman at the scene was not in the building when the fire occurred and was later transported to Medical Center of the Rockies. Her condition is unknown.
The building where the fire occurred appeared to be some sort of art studio, Ward said previously.
The Loveland Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are among other agencies assisting in the investigation.
