Man found dead in Fort Collins Carrabba’s parking lot identified

Foul play not suspected but autopsy and toxicology tests will help determine if he died of natural causes or by accident.

The man found dead in a parking lot between the Courtyard by Marriott and Carrabba’s in south Fort Collins last month has been identified.

The Larimer County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Michael Boothe, 45, of Cheney, Kansas. Boothe’s manner and cause of death are pending investigation and autopsy and toxicology results to determine whether Boothe died of natural causes or by accident. Foul play is not suspected, according to the report.

Fort Collins police responded to reports of a “person down” in the 1200 block of Oakridge Drive at 7 a.m. Nov. 22. When they arrived, they found Boothe lying next to a RedGuard company pickup just outside the east entrance of the hotel.

According to his obituary, Boothe was a U.S. Army veteran and employee of RedGuard. He is survived by four children. His funeral service was Nov. 30 in Cheney.
