Man who was reportedly firing gun in Estes Park is injured in officer-involved incident

ESTES PARK, Colo. – A man who was reportedly shooting a gun inside a home in Estes Park early Sunday was injured after an interaction with authorities who responded to the incident.

Shots were fired after deputies from the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office and a police officer from Estes Park arrived, but it was unclear who fired the shots or if the man was struck by gunfire from the officers.

The incident happened about 2:45 a.m. in the 1100 block of Griffith Court in Estes Park. Authorities responded to the home on a welfare check after a report that a woman was trapped inside the home with a man who was shooting a gun.
