DENVER — The 90-degree-plus streak continues through Monday. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds this morning, with temperatures in the low 90s by lunch!
The mountains will see a few showers this morning, with scattered storm activity in the afternoon.
Storms will then develop by midday a little closer to the I-25 corridor, with a risk of severe weather on the eastern plains through the afternoon and early evening. We’ll hit highs in the mid 90s, making it the 12th straight day of 90 degree-plus heat!
Tuesday and Wednesday will be about 10 to 12 degrees cooler, with a chance of afternoon storms and showers. We’ll finally see some 80s across the Denver metro area.
We don’t get a break from the heat for long though! Hot and dry weather is expected late next week.
Drought conditions continue to get worse across Colorado, especially in the southern portion of the state. In Baca and Prowers Counties in the southeast corner, soil conditions are now rated as “extreme drought.”
