According to 9News, Northern Colorado will start seeing heavy storm Monday afternoon. 9News, Fort Collins Coloradoan
Poudre School District and Thompson School District cancelled Tuesday classes and activities ahead of a Thanksgiving week snowstorm expected to dump more than a foot of snow in Northern Colorado.
Both districts also cancelled all after-school activities and athletics Monday, according to an email sent from Thompson School District as well as one sent to PSD parents and families this afternoon.
Estes Park School District announced it will also be closed Tuesday.
Schools in the districts were already out of session Wednesday through Friday in observance of Thanksgiving.
Private or charter schools announcing closures are:
- Heritage Christian School
- Liberty Common Charter School
Colorado State University and Front Range Community College do not have classes this week in honor of Thanksgiving Day. Front Range will also be closing its campuses and locations 5 p.m. Monday and all day Tuesday.
At 8:30 p.m. Monday, CSU announced that its Fort Collins campus would be closed Tuesday and all activities and events were canceled. CSU employees with emergency duties including police, facilities mangemenet, housing, environmental health services and the veterinary teaching hospital should coordinate with their supervisors or directors to determine work status, according to the university.
Front Range announced it would close all campuses and locations at 5 p.m. Monday and remain closed Tuesday. The closure also impacts the Harmony Library at the Fort Collins campus.
Windsor and Greeley public schools are also closed this week for Thanksgiving, along with Ridgeview Classical Schools in Fort Collins.
All city of Fort Collins offices and facilities, except essential 24/7 services, will have a delayed opening of 10 a.m. Tuesday
State offices in Denver and surrounding suburban counties will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Specific closures or delays in Larimer County haven’t been announced.
The winter storm is expected to dump a foot of snow or more in Northern Colorado Monday afternoon through Tuesday. Travel on Tuesday is expected to be “difficult to impossible,” according to the National Weather Service.

Downtown Business Association has postponed this year’s DBA Volunteer Thanksgiving, originally scheduled for Tuesday evening. The organization will contact volunteers with a rescheduled date.
The Larimer County’s Board of County Commissioners’ Administrative Matters meeting scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday has been moved to 1 p.m. Wednesday.
League of Women Voters of Larimer County has cancelled “Taking Action for Health Justice,” a public meeting that was scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Monday at the Harmony Library.
Poudre School District’s Tuesday board of education meeting has been cancelled.
Windsor’s tree board meeting on Tuesday has been cancelled.
Loveland’s planning commission meeting for Tuesday. All items will be moved to the Dec. 9 agenda.
Business and organization cancellations
Boy & Girls Clubs of Larimer County are closed Monday and Tuesday. For more information, call 970-223-1709.
Canyon Concert Ballet has cancelled all of its dance classes Monday and Tuesday.
The City of Fort Collins announced its offices and facilities (except for essential 24/7 services) will operate on a delayed start time, opening at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Transfort buses will operate on their normal schedule.
City of Loveland offices will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday but may be closed after later evaluation. Monday evening meetings and activities will be cancelled, and Chilson Recreation Center and Loveland Public Library will close at 5 p.m. Buses will operate on normal schedules Tuesday. Trash pick-up will be delayed by one day this week. Yard waste collection is suspended Tuesday through Thursday.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife announced that weather will impact its office hours on Tuesday. Call your local office before visiting to ensure it is open.
Food Bank for Larimer County will be closed Tuesday.
Foothills Mall in Fort Collins will close at 7 p.m. Monday and will delay opening until noon Tuesday.
Health District of Northern Larimer County will be closed Tuesday.
Respite Care will close 5 p.m. Monday and remain closed Tuesday.
Wellington town offices will not open until 12 p.m. Tuesday.
Windsor town offices including town Hall, the police administrative office and the Community Recreation Center, will not open until 10 a.m. Tuesday.
