Snow for the mountains Sunday, with a few showers over the plains

DENVER- A west coast storm will move in Sunday, bringing rain and snow to the mountains and a few showers over the plains tonight. Highs will be in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees in Denver for Sunday under a mostly cloudy sky.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the majority of our northern and central Rocky mountains until 11 a.m. Monday. Travel could be very difficult through the high country Sunday. Accumulations range from 5-10 inches at higher elevations.

The plains have a slight chance for light rain, then snow late Sunday and early Monday.

Monday will be a cold day in Denver- as highs drop back into the upper 30s. Skies clear through the day and milder temperatures return by Tuesday.

Seasonal and dry conditions return through the middle and end of next week, with highs in the 40s.
