Watch replay: President Joe Biden expected to talk gun laws at press conference


President Joe Biden is scheduled to host his first solo press conference as president from the White House on Thursday. The event comes 64 days into his presidency and follows mass shootings that left 10 dead in Boulder and eight dead in Atlanta, Georgia.

Biden has pushed for the Senate to pass gun legislation already passed by the House. Those laws include the Bipartisan Backgrounds Checks Act and the Enhanced Background Checks Act of 2021. The president is expected to be asked whether he’ll also introduce any additional legislation or if he plans to issue executive orders, too.

The press conference may also include topics like the rising number of unaccompanied migrant children at the border, his infrastructure plans, and the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic and efforts to vaccinate Americans.
