DENVER — It will be a windy start to the week!
We’re already seeing gusts over 40 mph along the Front Range and it’s only going to get windier. A high wind warning goes into effect at 9 a.m. for most of northeastern Colorado. We could see gusts over 60 mph this afternoon.
The mountains will pick up some snow, but we’ll see dry conditions across the plains. Another 3 to 6 inches is possible in the northern and central mountains.
Temperatures will start off near freezing this morning and then climb into the 40s this afternoon. Highs in the 20s and 30s across the Colorado high country.
The weather pattern will remain fairly quiet through mid-week, with more dry weather for Denver and the eastern plains. There will be a chance for some light snow late Thursday and early Friday.
It looks like the overall weather pattern will turn colder and more stormy for Colorado by the middle of January.
